  • Who should take these courses?

    These courses are for ICT professionals and OSP designers who want to gain specialized install/design knowledge and skills.
  • Are there prerequisites?

    The OSP program is for learners with entry-level OSP knowledge and experience. If you're new to the field, completing the Introduction to Outside Plant course is highly recommended. For the Applied Fiber Splicing course, it's ideal for individuals with little to no experience or those who want to improve their skills.
  • How do I know if I have the foundational knowledge?

    You can take a free, 10-minute OSP Readiness Assessment to determine if you have the foundational knowledge needed for these courses.
  • Can I earn continuing education credits?

    Yes, you can earn up to 35 CECs toward existing BICSI credential recertification requirements for the OSP program, and 14 CECs for the Applied Fiber Splicing course. You will also receive a Certificate of Completion for each micro-course.

  • How long do I have to complete each course?

    Each OSP course is a self-paced online course, and you have 90 days from the date of purchase to complete it. The Applied Fiber Splicing course is a two-day, in-person class.
  • What are the system requirements?

    To participate in the self-paced online training, you'll need a laptop, desktop, or tablet, a microphone and speakers, and a stable internet connection. Recommended operating systems are Windows 10+, macOS 11+, iOS 14+, or Android 10+. Recommended browsers are Google Chrome™, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft® Edge, and Safari®.
