Volunteers play a vital role in advancing the information and communications technology (ICT) industry through our committees and groups. Below is a brief overview of each opportunity, followed by the form to express interest.
Volunteer Group Descriptions
Technical Information & Methods (TI&M) Committee
Responsible for writing and updating BICSI’s design and installation technical manuals. Composed of subject matter experts (SMEs) who write, review, suggest revisions, and reach consensus on changes. Continually seeks qualified ICT SMEs to build
an exceptional team.
Registration & Credentials Supervision (RCSC) Committee
Develops, maintains, and oversees BICSI’s professional and occupational registration/certification programs to provide globally recognized credentials that enhance the abilities and stature of holders.
BICSI Standards Committee
Participates in developing telecommunications-related standards and notifies BICSI members of relevant changes that may affect them.
Professional Development Committee
Consists of four workgroups: Future Education Needs & Trends, Mentorship, Emerging Professionals & Students, and Women in BICSI.
Ethics Committee
Develops and administers the Standards of Conduct and Code of Ethics to enhance the professional value of BICSI members and credential holders.
BICSI Cares Committee
Oversees BICSI’s charitable endeavors through BICSI Cares, Inc., a 501(c)(3) entity.
